Clear rules, clearly labeled

Regular results

On Near me and on the map, salons are ordered by distance from you. On city pages, salons with a state license on file, a phone number and a website come first, then the rest, in alphabetical order. Everyone gets the same rules, and paying never changes this order.

Featured and Sponsor spots

Salons on the Featured or Local Sponsor plan can appear in a separate box marked Featured or Sponsor above or beside regular results, and with a gold pin on the map. These are paid placements. We show at most a few at a time and rotate them fairly.

Badges

• License on file: the salon matched a public state license list (Florida, Texas and New York so far) on the date shown. It shows the salon met that state’s rules on that date; it isn’t a quality rating. No badge doesn’t mean a salon is unlicensed. Many states don’t publish their lists.
• Verified by owner: the owner claimed the page and we confirmed it by phone.

Links

Links to a sponsor’s own website are marked as sponsored for search engines.

Reviews

We don’t sell, invent or filter reviews. Quotes on a sponsor’s page are that salon’s own real client reviews, shown as theirs.
